Our most favorite place in Idaho this year was the river. Brielle moved into her new house about 6 weeks after we visited there two years ago. So this was our family's first time staying in this house and it was literally about a block and half from the Payette river. The river had a current but in the shallow flat areas it was very mild. Brielle said each year it looks different depending on how the winter melt carved up the river in the spring. This year there were several islands - one almost entirely sand. We would wade over to the island and set up camp. It was like we had our own private beach. We built castles out of the river rocks and sand. I love all the smooth river rocks that cover the bottom of the river.
This is the first night we got there (shortly after dinner) we walked down to the river. Daniel threw his pole in and the kids just enjoyed exploring. While Daniel was fishing we took the rest of the kids for a long walk along the river.

what a beautiful place. Sounds like a great time.
Now THAT sounds peaceful. I could spend quite a bit of time there. Quiet and strssfree...till you step on a saw. LOVE the pictures. The wide angle makes me feel like i'm there with Piper!
Nice pics Brit! When we were there a week later, we enjoyed the river as well. We did go for walks after dinner, but did not have a skeeto problem. It must be your sweetness!
I love the weather there from May to mid October. It's just about perfect, but the winters? hmmmmm
I'm glad you could visit Brielle and Brock and that your kids had such a good time. Perhaps when we get back from Africa, we will live there 6 mo and go back East for the winter.

Wow, these pictures are great. Brielle's house seems heavenly. I LOVE the pictures of Piper by the water. Just love little Aspen. She is so cute!
GREAT photos of Piper by the river!!! I love that area where Brielle lives and Emma loved throwing rocks with Aspen and Kamden. You should have seen mom and I trying to carry the girls through deeper waters to get to the sandy banks... pretty funny looking. I bet the boys loved the fishing... hope we can both get there at the same time soon!
I am so glad you guys got to visit. It was a wonderful time. The summer is the best but I have to agree with dad about the winters. You got some really good pictures. The pictures of Piper turned out awesome.
