Beetle Mania

No it isn't Paul, John or Ringo Star.
We found this special beetle in our garage. It was a BIG one! We had fun with it and took it for a walk - mostly riding on Piper's cast. Then we set it on a big rock in front of the house.

It's funny because Ainsley really has no fear. She loves bugs and worms and grasshoppers etc... We were at the pool and she found a beetle and picked it up and made it look fun to hold so her friend thought she might like to hold it as well - but her friend ended up pulling the "BRINN BUG SUPER FREAKOUT" - yes it has a name. Brinn was the WORST when it came to bugs.

First I love that picture of Piper in the stroller, she is looking so old. Ainsley sure does love bugs. I am getting Kamden to become a little more brave now. Now she will kill bugs on her own which is a huge step for her. I definitely can agree with the Brinn super freak out. I have lots of stories but the one I remember the most is when Brinn and I had to help Dad build the rock wall and move so boards in the back yard. Well they were all to heavy to carry by yourself so Brinn and I had to carry them together. I remember getting so mad at her because she would pick one up and drop it because she saw a bug. Smashing my hand or fingers almost every time. Meanwhile Mom was in the house watching and cracking up. Great times!

I remember that incident very well. I went from laughing, to very mad at you both, to laughing, to very mad at Brinn, to telling you both to go away.
Brinn is not destined to be the entimologist in the family, but it was a good memory...the rock wall lives on.
Nice beetle Brit!

What a HUGE beetle! I think that I am more like Brinn when it comes to bugs. I just don't like them. The worst was when I had my pet frog and I had to touch live crickets to feed him. ugh!
Also, Piper looks very "V.S." in the picture up there.

I didn't think we had bugs like that here. I thought they only were in the south. Love, Mom

Kendra saw these pictures and was a little shocked-- she would never allow a beetle like that to even get close to touching her! :) Although she did spend an afternoon with friends "saving" worms from rain puddles...

ok, first of all PIper is super cute and her hair is getting really long. It lays a LOT nicer than Emma's.

second, Ainsley is so brave with bugs, salamanders and other insects.

and third, to defend myself, I am 100 x's better when it comes to not freaking out about bus and spiders. I can now say that time and experience has made me the woman I now am. I married and left my parents home to find myself in a scary world without anyone to save me. I survived an apartment with the largest spider things ever!!! (mom can vouvh for me) I then moved on to a cock roach infested aparmtment. I now live in a basement apartment that has an abundance of spiders, I was killing 2 -3 big nasty spiders a day. Finally I said enough is enough and we had our place sprayed. still see an occasional survivor, but am now brave and fearless like Ainsley and jsut take care of business myself. :O)

still hate them though.
